Assistant or Associate Professor
The School of Information Science and Technology (SIST) / Key Lab for Information Science of Electromagnetic Waves (EMW Lab) at Fudan University (Shanghai, China) invites applications for over 10 tenure-tracked Assistant or Associate Professor with a focus on the following subjects: synthetic aperture radar, remote sensing, microwave technology, artificial intelligence, high performance computing.
We seek a group of new faculty members who will develop and maintain a vigorous, externally funded research program in these areas. The successful candidate will also participate in the SIST undergraduate and graduate teaching program and may contribute to teaching courses in multi-disciplinary areas. Advising and mentoring graduate students and/or post-doctoral scholars is also expected from the candidates.
Appointment:
Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. The tenure-track period is 6 years during which the candidates are expected to be promoted to tenured positions.
Job Requirements
Minimum/Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in EE, CS, Geoscience, or a closely related field by the start of employment.
A strong scholarly potential demonstrated by a record of peer-reviewed publications and a clearly defined research agenda commensurate with academic rank.
Demonstrated ability or significant potential for establishing a research program supported by extramural funding.
Proficiency in oral and written English.
A commitment to educational equity in a multicultural setting and to advancing the participation of diverse groups and supporting diverse perspectives.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year or more of professional (e.g. post-doctoral) experience.
Experience securing funds for research from nationally competitive awards.
Commitment and ability to effectively communicate in both the classroom and public settings.
